Gossip

My thoughts on gossip are very general.  I don't really feel the need to reflect on this type of gossip because that's not the way it works now a days.  Gossip is very common on high school.  Everyone, and I mean everyone, gossips.  Young, old, middle-aged.  It's a terrible habit to have, but, that's just the way it is.  I try not to do it all that much, because it always comes back around to bite me.  Others have a hard time understanding that concept, and that's why I try telling others the down falls of gossiping.  It doesn't do any good, all it does is make yourself look like a fool and it makes other people feel like crap, especially if they hear you talked about them.  My advice is to just try not to ever do it, ever.

The Holocaust

This video was very sad.  Just the fact that someone actually went through all of that suffering and watched people they loved die.  It's terrible.  I feel so lucky that I didn't go through any of that.  It really makes you want to have more faith in Jesus Christ.  It is unbelievable, after the Holocaust, others still denied God.  Especially people who survived it, like these people.  The video was very inspiring and made me think twice about my family and friends.  I feel so blessed to have my family, friends, and faith.  I don't think I could ever go through something like that without my faith in Jesus Christ.

iMovie

This project was definitely one of my favorites.  Kayla, Jake and I all set up a newscast involving the Bachelor and it's surprising ending and skateboarding.  One reason for this is we all were talking about something we watched or were interested in.  It taught is cool new ways to work with iMovie, to.  Another reason was that the Macs are awesome computers to work with and I think we all enjoyed working with it, most of the time. (; All in all Kayla, Jake and I did an awesome job and the newscast turned out awesome!  Good job guys!

Spring Break

MY SPRING BREAK WAS AMAZING.  I went to Panama City Beach Florida. :) It was fantastic.  I sat at the beach every day and the weather was great with an exception of a couple.  The church we went to for Palm Sunday was absolutely beautiful as well, super crowded.  The food was great, we went out to eat pretty much every night.  Also, a few different families went to so we all had a great time.  There was jet skiing, banana boating (my favorite) and parasailing.  It was honestly the best spring break ever and I can't wait to go back next year! :)

Picture # 2

I live by this quote. It has helped me become a stronger person and it has helped me wisely choose true friends. It's so true. Wouldn't you rather have someone actually know you yet not like you than someone who doesn't like you but acts fake to your face? Confusing, yes, but it relates to my life, and any other teenage girl, in so many ways. Real friends truly make your high school career worth it. I know I can't get through anything without mine. This quote is also a lesson. You shouldn't talk about people then go behind their back and say the exact opposite. I know, from experience, that it will always comes back around.

Lent!

So, this Lenten season I chose to give up soda.  This is extremely tough for me, considering I drink soda every day of my life.  But, giving it up gives me an advantage because soda isn't the best thing to drink.  I have stuck with it every day so far and I'm sort of proud of myself, haha. (:  Resisting a temptation is my biggest weakness.  It has helped me rely on God more because I know he's helping me with it all the time.  Basically, everything is all and well this Lenten season and I am very happy with it!

What do I wanna be when I'm older?

I think about this way too much.  When I'm older I either want to be a psychologist, something in the nursing field, or something that involves traveling.  First, a psychologist?  Yeah, I know random but I love talking to people and figuring out what different people are about.  You could put me in a room for days on end with one single person I don't know and I wouldn't get bored.  Nursing, sweet right?  Right. :) My mom is a surgical tech and OSF and I think that's where I get that sort of drive to be someone that works in a hospital.  I love helping people and making sure others are ok.  I like to learn about things that have to do with it too.  Last but not least, traveling?  My favorite!  Don't get me wrong, I hate to be alone from home for awhile if my family isn't there with me, but I love to go to new places and see everything there is to see.  I think it'd be the coolest thing ever!  Okay, class is almost over, gotta go. (: Have a good day!!!

Yay for service hours :)

So, my service hour project this year is for sure the best one ever!  Mrs. Materelli asked if I would like to help in the kitchen during homeroom for service hours, heck yes!  I get to lunch first and all of my friends do it with me too.  All of the lunch ladies are the sweetest and sometimes we get free cookies! :)  The other service project I did in the summer of '08 was help and St. Philomena Vacation Bible School.  It was so fun!  I got to be a group leader.  Considering I love kids, and I was with them all the time, there was never a dull moment.  All of the group leaders and kids had a lot of fun activites to do everyday!  It was in the morning from 9-12, which isn't bad at all.  They even provided food, yay. Who's Paul Harvey?

Today,  over 25 million people “stand by” for Paul Harvey.  That’s the number of loyal listeners who

tune in every week to hear his skillful blend of news and views.   He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  He made his own radio sets while still a boy.  While in high school, he frequented KVOO radio until the manager finally hired him.  His amazing skill of communication took him around the world and back to Oklahoma for induction into The Hall of Fame.  The ABC Networks have been bringing Paul to a national radio audiences for over 50 years on over 1000 radio stations.  He is a recent recipient of the Presidential Medal of honor, given to him by George W. Bush in 2005.

Wow, that guy is crazy amazing.  I think it would be the coolest thing in the world to do what he did all of his life.  One of my favorite things to do is talk, HA.  That would be, hands down, the sweetest career ever to pursue.

iPhoto Project!

AHH this project has been so much fun.  At first, I was a bit confused, but my sweet computer's teacher helped me out so it's all good.  I'm doing this project using iPhoto where I gather a bunch of pictures that describe me/spell out my name/represent what I love and it plays with a song.  So kind of like a music video but with pictures.  I think it's so neat to make a video like this.  All of my pictures turned out okay-ish but I love my song!  I like the fact I'm showing people a little of my life.  This has been by far the coolest project yet. (:

NASA

junemoon_claro.jpg

Serene skyviews were enjoyed across planet Earth earlier this week with a young crescent Moon low in the western sky just after sunset. Recorded on June 7, this colorful example includes a quiet beach in the foreground with the city lights of Lisbon, Portugal, and the Sintra Mountains along the horizon. Posing between cloud banks, the Moon's slender, sunlit arc represents only about 1 percent of the full lunar disc. The rest of the Moon's nearside is faintly visible though, illuminated by Earthshine. Awaxing crescent Moon creates a lovely western sky.

This beautiful picture was taken on my birthday, June 7th, 2008, in Lisbon Portugal.  It was impossible deciding which picture to choose, but this one was my favorite in the end.  I picked it because of the shore and all the city lights, my dream city you could say.  Without a doubt I will live somewhere like this place when I'm older, watch me.

Michael Phelps

So, Michael Phelps, pot head or not?  I'm gonna have to go with no.  Not that he's innocent or anything, but one video doesn't make someone a drug addict, like people have made it out to be.  Yes, he did do drugs don't get me wrong.  But, I personally think people are getting a little too involved.  He's what?  Mid 20's if that?  He clearly was just trying to have fun and got a little too crazy, just like every other young human being.  The only disappointing part about it, I think, is that after the olympics he became every girl/boy swimmer's biggest fan and after what happened it was kind of just a let down.  All in all, in my opinion, this whole think was blown way out of proportion. Have a good day :)

Music (:

Music is probably my anti-drug.  I don't go through one day without it.  It calms me down, pumps me up, even puts me to sleep.  My favorite kinds of music would have to be acoustic/rock/.  Mayday Parade and Dashboard Confessional have my heart forever, they're my favorite bands.  I also love Secondhand Serenade and Hinder.  I went to a Hinder concert a couple years ago, it was probably the best time of my life!  The guitar in general puts me in a good mood though, especially the acoustic guitar.  The reason I love music so much is that there are so many different genres that just relate to anyones lifestyle/mood.

Housing Crisis

Well, I personally don't feel bad for people who lose their homes yet I don't totally blow those people off.  I choose to look at it in this way: Why did they lose their homes and what kind of people are they?  If it's someone who's high on drugs 99% of the time and they're unemployed they obviously did it to themselves so what's the point of feeling bad?  But, if it's someone who's going through tough times and isn't coming up with the money fast enough I think the government should step in.  Give them a couple more months or even help them get the money somehow.  All in all if your living your life in a great way, supplying your family with what they need I don't think you'll have any worry of losing your house.

Vice Versa '09

My final decision on whether or not I'm going to Vice Versa this year is probably going to be a no.  After the back to summer dance not meeting my expectations then Homecoming '08 pretty much being a dud I've decided not to waste my money and time on something that wont even be fun.  Plus, none of my friends are going anyway so that'll make it even more boring.  I know dances are suppose to make your high school memories but plenty of events and parties will make even more.  But, to everyone planning on it this year, have fun. :)

the 2009 inauguration

The Inauguration of Barack Obama really set the tone for his next four years as our president.  It really showed me his morals and goals as a president, which i mostly supported.  Besides the fact that he's pro-choice, he seems like he will impact our country in a very positive way.  The first family totally represent what a good American family should be like.  His two little girls are the cutest things ever. (: Barack also impressed me when he decided to use Abraham Lincoln's Bible and if it wasn't for Lincoln our country would probably had suffered slavery longer.  That really showed me Barack has huge plans for our country.

The Golden Globes

The Golden Globes was pretty great from what I saw. Everything from the beautiful dresses, to the gorgeous actors, to the awards that were received. My favorite dress worn was by Cameron Diaz. It was an extremely unique hot pink haute couture dress from Chanel. Cameron and Mark Wahlberg presented the award for “Film Supporting Actor,” won by Heath Ledger. I gotta say, I've never been a big Collin Ferrall fan, but he sure does clean up nice. Collin won Best Actor, Musical or Comedy "In Bruges." My favorite awards given were to actress Kate Winslet in "Best Performance By An Actress In a Motion Picture," for the movie, "Revolutionary Road," and "Best Performance By An Actress In a Supporting Role In a Motion Picture" for the movie "The Reader." Kate is my all time favorite actress, and this proves it.
